100 golfers will participate in a Ryder Cup formatted, exclusive tournament on Pinehurst’s famed No 2, home of the 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. V Wine & Dine for Cancer Research

After 15 years of raising significant funds for The V Foundation, we have added to our week of events an elegant evening of decadent wines, gourmet foods, and a partnership for our cause that is unprecedented. On this night, in particular, we will celebrate the collaborative research projects that are taking place at three well known institutions in North Carolina. North Carolina State University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina are all conducting projects that have been funded by The V Foundation to further cancer research. Join us, along with personalities like Roy Williams and Sidney Lowe, as we continue our efforts to do something significant for cancer research in North Carolina.

Scientific Symposium & Exhibition for Cancer Research

We will host a symposium of members from our Scientific Advisory Board and local oncologists to speak about developments in cancer research as a result of the funding they have received from The V Foundation.  Held in at the Raleigh Convention Center, we will also showcase several local facilities that  serve the needs of those touched by cancer in a “hands-on” exhibit open to the public, at no charge.

V Cancer Symposium for Cancer Research

For the first time in North Carolina, The V Foundation for Cancer Research will host a cancer research symposium featuring a panel of distinguished doctors that have been funded by The V Foundation. Doctors and researchers will speak about developments in cancer research made in our very own community. The symposium will include a Q&A session. Speakers will include members of The V Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Board, a panel of the best scientists, doctors, and PhDs in the cancer research field. There will also be a “hands-on” exhibit by area hospitals that serve the needs of those touched by cancer.

Racquets for Research

The V Foundation is hosting its fourth annual Racquets for Research tennis tournament with celebrity guest Don Johnson. Johnson is a 2001 men’s doubles Wimbledon champion and Collegiate Hall of Fame inductee. Tennis enthusiasts from around the triangle can gather together for a day of fun and philanthropy. For the second year in a row, there will be a ProAm tournament in which participants can compete against the pros.

V Gala for Cancer Research

Presented by GlaxoSmithKline, our V Gala will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the RCC Center. 750 people will enjoy an elegant, black-tie evening of fine foods, fabulous company, and The V Foundation message of hope, along with our silent and live auctions. Grammy award winning artist Lyle Lovett and his Large Band will entertain us all after we hear what a difference The V Foundation is making in the lives of those affected by cancer through passion, friendship, and commitment.

Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic for Cancer Research

To be held at the new Lonnie Poole Golf Course at NCSU, we will host 150 golfers for two jam-packed days of golf! Saturday’s tournament will be hosted by Nike Golf. Each foursome will be paired with a celebrity and winners will take home the coveted Nike Cup! Sunday’s tournament will also feature celebrities and will additionally be open to spectators. New this year, we are not requiring that the same golfer play both rounds of golf. Corporate/on course sponsorships are available.
